Welcome to "This Is My Story," a new blog series dedicated to highlighting the journeys of individuals within the Polyphony Music Resources family.

In these posts, we turn the spotlight on some of our dedicated church musicians. Through personal anecdotes and professional milestones, we’ll learn a little more about them and hopefully, get to know one another better.

This series aims to inspire and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our musical leaders. Join us as we delve into their stories and continue to strengthen our connections.

Tell us about your family.

I have twin, 24 year old sons, Kennan and Carter. I am about to get married to Celeste.

Favorite hobbies?

Playing trumpet in the community band.

How have you participated in Polyphony?

6 or 7 years at least

What do you think God is up to in your life right now?

I am getting married, and that has been a big surprise. My sons are both moving out into the world and seem to be doing well. The last two years have been about new starts and renewal.

Tell us about your faith journey.

I grew up in a solid baptist home and spent a lot of time at church. I became a Christian at a very young age. My small school didn't have a lot of music opportunities, so I joined every music program available for my age at church. Thankfully, the church had a lot to offer and provided a great foundation. At the age of 17, I began to feel a calling from God to be in vocational ministry. Over time that calling developed into a call to music ministry. I have served in churches for 30 years including part-time positions while in school. It has not always been easy, but I am thankful for my calling and the opportunities I have been given to serve.

Something interesting most people would not know about you.

I grew up working on my family farm and I started driving tractors at the age of 12. I also had a pet raccoon named Buddy when I was in elementary school.

What adjectives best describe you?

Serious, dry wit, loyal
