Polyphony exists because of you. Three years ago, we asked you to help us raise $300,000 to build something: a thriving community of church musicians who could find formation, fellowship, and a future in their calling. You met that goal, and that community is now a reality.

The Opportunity Before Us
The landscape of church music ministry is changing. What we see, in Polyphony and in the churches we resource, is not decline. It is reinvention without loss of identity. Congregations are rediscovering the deep roots of choral and congregational worship, not as nostalgia, but as something that genuinely meets the hunger of a new generation.
The church musician of the future will need to be a curator of the best of the church’s tradition while also imagining innovative ways to renew worship for their specific community. They will need to be entrepreneurial, learning how to engage their local context and draw on the resources unique to their place. It requires formation, not just information. That formation happens best in relationship, which is why the heart of this stretch goal is investment in people at every stage of the journey.
What This Campaign Will Fund: A Mentoring Initiative
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS receive an introduction to church music ministry, giving them a picture and imagination for what this calling can look like before they ever set foot in a conservatory or seminary.
COLLEGE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS are matched with internship opportunities that allow them to explore vocational direction in a real ministry setting, with guidance and reflection built in.
EARLY-CAREER MUSIC MINISTERS receive a dedicated mentor, someone who walks alongside them, offers a safe space to process challenges, and helps them dream. Music ministers in their first years are at the highest risk of leaving the field entirely. A relationship with a wise, caring mentor changes that.
LATE-CAREER PROFESSIONALS AND EARLY RETIREES are paired with those who need their wisdom. Their experience becomes a gift to the next generation rather than a story that ends with retirement.
Why Now?
We are asking you to help us raise an additional $100,000 by the end of 2026 for a total of $400,000. Polyphony has the relationships, the credibility, and the community to do this work. What we need are the resources to formalize and sustain a mentoring structure that serves church musicians across every stage of career and calling.
This is not a program. It is a pipeline. It is how we ensure that the thriving community you helped us build today keeps growing.
