In our This Is My Story series, we typically highlight the journey of a church musician and the ways faith and calling shape their ministry. Today, we’re deviating slightly from that format to share a personal reflection on the Polyphony Conference itself.
Jeremy Poplin, Associate Pastor of Music at Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, Virginia, offers this testimonial as a longtime participant—speaking not about his own path alone, but about the community, renewal, and deep vocational support he has found through Polyphony.

I have found no other conference or event that speaks to the whole person like the Polyphony Conference. Through sessions that feed the musician and the professional music maker in me I learn how to do my craft better and with greater creativity. Through the gatherings and times of fellowship and conversation I find community and belonging. Through the sacred and holy moments of worship and singing I find rest and renewal in my soul.
Being a part of a group like this and attending this conference is more than continuing education or professional development, this is a coming together of similar others facing similar situations and challenges finding hope, lasting friendships, and a support network of colleagues that understand the highs and lows of music ministry.
The Polyphony Conference is a priority for me and something I look forward to being a part of each year. There is something remarkable about these few days that allows me slow down and take a breath, to recalibrate and be blessed so that I can return home to my place of service rejuvenated and ready to minister more effectively to my community of faith.
Jeremy’s words echo what many participants experience each year at the Polyphony Conference: space to breathe, meaningful community, and renewal for the journey of ministry. If you are seeking encouragement, inspiration, and connection with colleagues who understand the unique joys and challenges of music ministry, we invite you to join us in Nashville. Early registration closes January 12, and we encourage you to register soon.
